What was the status of most slaves when europeans traded for them in africa?

    The Europeans traded the slaves from to the African rulers especially the women. Some African tribes forcibly sold other African to Europeans in exchange for money. Some Africans were brought to Brazil and forced to work in the plantations. While others run away and lead a rebellion against European and African who took advantage of their weakness and situation.
