Religious wars deeply divide a country and puts it in constant dysfunction. Because religious beliefs are so ingrained and rigid, it is difficult for the opposing side to make peace with others who do not share their religious beliefs. The culture of Europe will be in constant discord and no amount of intervention can change what is happening.
