If x is the first even integer, the 5 consecutive even integers are

x, x+2, x+4, x+6, x + 8

x + (x+8) = 3 (x+6) - 2

2x+8 = 3x+18-2

2x+8 = 3x+16

-x = 8

x = - 8

hence the no. s are - 8, - 6, - 4, - 2, 0
