It depends if the restraining order is against you or against some else by you, you always need to have proof of someone, like if someone is abusing you or won't stop harassing you it's always a thing to have proof. When filing a restraining order make sure you list all the things you want the person to stop doing, either it's stalking or harassment, etc.
