Each march in vermont, citizens living in every town in the state gather in a town hall or similar venue and have an open debate about the various issues (budgets, roads, and the like) that affect the entire community. town meeting day, as it is called, is actually a holdover from what type of political system?

    Athenian participatory democracy is a system of direct democracy where people could directly vote for the regulations that must be imposed in the society.

    This is different from current type of democracy where people could only vote for the representatives
