I believe the answer is: Gillian has a strong sense of self-efficacy when it comes to talking to people and writing down information, but she has a weak sense of self-efficacy when it comes to running in a race.

Self-efficacy in this context refers to an individuals' belief in whether they have what it take to be able to solve a certain problem.

Low in self-efficacy tend to make people become discouraged to commit in doing a certain outcome because they believe they would just waste everyone's time because they think they do not have what it takes to be successful in it.
