What is critical to remember regarding immobilization and airway management of an infant?

When a child is suspected of having and spinal or head injury, or any other that requires immobilization it is important to remember that the spine should be placed into a proper position and that the airway can be correctly aligned also. This is done by providing certain padding behind the shoulders.
