The closest answer would be B. The march lead to one of the bloodiest events in Reconstruction, the Camilla massacre. Fighting broke and the federal government had to station troops to end the bloodshed. As a result both Northerners and Southerners used the event to solidify their stances on reconstruction and peaceful resolution was not found immediately.
