How poor does an American have to be before you would consider them to be living in poverty?

The US government has answered this question by creating a threshold known as the "poverty line." Currently that line is set at an annual income of $23,050 for a family of four. Families living on less than that are considered to be living in poverty. Do you believe this is an accurate indication of poverty? Is this number too high or too low?
