    The correct answer is - it pushed women and their children into poverty.

    This lithograph shows the deterioration of men because of alcohol. It starts with a glass with a friend, then a glass to keep the cold out, then a glass too much, then drunk and riotous, then confirmed drunkard, then poverty and disease, then forsaken by friends, then desperation and crime, and in the end death by suicide. And because of alcohol, their wives and children will lose all their family money as well.
