    The answer is severe emotional trauma in which had occur during childhood. It is because it has been believed that dissociative identity disorder are likely to develop when an individual has experienced trauma during his or her childhood that cause her to develop multiple identities in means of having to replace the trauma or trying to cope up with the trauma by making a certain identity.
