    1. African - Americans - They were discriminated against in society. For example, they were not allowed to buy houses, eat in restaurants, send their kids to the same school as the whites, there were even separate waiting rooms to sit as they could not mix with whites. They were also not allowed to vote.

    2. Mexican - Americans - They were also barely tolerated. Their rights were often overlooked and they had to live in rural areas and in poverty. They were forced to live in neighborhoods called barrios and were not tolerated by the whites for fear that they may have to lose their jobs and culture to the immigrated Mexican-americans

    3. Women - In the 15th amendment, women got the right to vote, but the right of women was not considered. They were dependent on their husbands and their opinions did not matter much in society. Their primary task was cooking and looking after their husband and children.
