Explain the difference between the collective rights and individual rights views of the Second Amendment.

    The Second Amendment reads:

    "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

    When the subject of firearms and the Second Amendment is mentioned, the last half of the amendment is the main focus.
