The 22nd amendment establishes president term limits. In order for a person to become the president of the United States, he or she must be a U. S born citizen. He/She needs to be at least 35 years old and have lived in the United States for at least 14 years. However, the U. S Constitution does NOT require the candidate to have prior experience in elective office.

More than half of the voting people would support a gay or lesbian presidential candidate. Even though atheist candidates may face resistance, about 60% of voters would support an atheist for president.
