Answer:C. may have preferred mineral orientation caused by differential stress.

    Explanation:

    What are Metamorphic Rocks?

Metamorphic rocks are rocks which have been altered and have their structure adjusted due to the heat, pressure and chemical processes which occurs deep beneath the earth surface. All of these processes result to the preferred mineral orientation.

Since they are exposed to such harsh conditions it changes their chemical composition, mineralogy and texture.

There are two common types of metamorphic rocks.

    Foliated and non foliated.

Foliated rocks are layered due to exposure to the heat and pressure such as phyllite and schist.

Non-foliated metamorphic rocks are the one without the layers such as marble and quartzite.
