How do you account for the failure of Reconstruction (1863-1877) to bring social and economic equality of opportunity to the former slaves?

    - The problems between executive and legislative branches detain the process on the status of freedmen.

    - During the redeption period, the control over the south was lost and this lead back to the belives of southern people in the white dominance.

    Explanation:

    The president allowed inequality in the south, by failing to achieve equality in that region of the country to mantain a certain order.

    The problems in congress did not allow for the status of freedmen to stabilshed.

    The segregation and ideas of white dominance wasn't eliminated in the south of the country.
