    Well if earth didn't have motion/revolution we wouldn't have a sunset/sunrise. The earth revolves around the sun. A second way would be at affects the tides. Depending on where the earth is in relation to the moon, the gravitational pull of the moon will determine the high or low tide. If the earth didn't move, there would be no movement in relation to the moon.
