    The writings of the mentioned authors were an effort to explain changes in the social and living conditions that emerged as a result of the Industrial Revolution. They became mostly interested in studying society since big changes were taking place in the aftermath of the French Revolution plus the rapid urbanization that came along the Industrial Revolution.

    Most of the Industrialization turned into an increase of population that created new and unprecedented problems.

    The negative impact of Industrialization came to society in the form of poor working conditions, low wages and child labour. Therefore sociologists were trying to explain these and find ways to improve this new and modern way of life.
