    French found great amount of furs in North America.

    Explanation:

    People were willing to pay a lot of money for furs in Europe. So, French people traded with Indians for furs and then took fur back and sold in Europe to earn profits. This was their main motive to colonize in America. Then they also moved to colonize in Ohio valley. King Louis XIV from France wanted to rule the New World. French associated in a friendly way through trade, marriage or by converting religiously.

    France found many colonies in eastern North America, in Caribbean islands, and in South America. In contrast to France, Spain colonized for gold and silver.
