    Explanation: Natural cause are those variation seen as a result of nature. This is seen in everyday activity and it is the same in all production lines. This cause can't be controlled or influenced. Production may be altered if this causes are controlled or tried to to he influenced.

    Assigned cause are those cause that comes as a result of an external force or variable affecting production. This causes are man made or activities caused by.

    In a control chat, the variation the chart is meant to address is the assignable cause which tend the alter the line of production to give a different result, from what is known under a natural cause.
