A gymnast is 4 months post-anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. She was last seen in the clinic 3 months ago prior to leaving for summer vacation. She has returned for the beginning of classes and visits the AT to see what kind of activities she should be doing in her rehab program.

To ensure that the progress evaluation will be complete, the AT needs to go through history, observation, palpation, and special testing. The patient should be asked pertinent questions, such as, " What types of exercises have you done for the past 3 months?" and "What type of pain, if any, ar you still experiencing?" Obersation of the symmetry to the other knee and palpation of the injured structures should be done. Range of motion, muscle strength, joint stability, and neuromuscular control should also be assessed.
