    Carl Vinson during World War II wrote two bills which expanding naval strength and he became the Chairman of the House Naval Affairs Committee in 1931 and played a pivotal role in guiding the U. S. Navy through World War II and the Cold War era.

    Carl Vinson who is recognized as "the father of the two-ocean navy," served more than twenty consecutive terms in the U. S. House of Representatives. In January 1965 at the time of his retirement he had served maximum years to U. S house of representative than anyone else.

    In middle Georgia during 1912 Vinson faced his defeat by the voters of Georgia. The result of this defeat spanned for six years in his political career. He wrote two economic bills and became the chairman of the House of Naval affairs committee in 1931.
