    Deductive logic

    Explanation:

In a deductive logic, we examine a general fact/premise and develop a specific conclusion based on that premise. On average, deductive logic tend to be more objective an reliable compared to other type of reasoning.

    In the example above,

Anthony knows that Not all people who attend college can graduate.

    This is the general fact/premise.

After knowing this, Anthony start to deduct each possibilities that might cause this situation. Such as:

Is it difficult? it must be. If it is not, everyone must be able to past.

Do they have to sacrifice a lot of their time and personal life to pass? Most likely so. Otherwise they can easily study the subject and pass the test.

This is why he can arrive to the conclusion that college is probably difficult as well as time consuming.
