What happens when the laws of Ohio and the federal government contradict one

another? (CS 19)

The US Constitution is followed because it states that the laws of the United

States take precedence over state law.

The US Congress holds hearings on the conflict and determines which law will

govern the people of Ohio.

The Ohio Supreme Court determines which law will be enforced in Ohio.

State law is followed because both constitutions agree that state laws take

precedence over federal law.

For example if the law of Ohio allows bicycle users to ride along pedestrian ways, while the federal constitution states that cyclists should ride at the side of the highway.
