According to the authors, modus operandi (MO) information is considered very important to an investigation, but the information is usually not useful in the identification and apprehension process of a perpetrator.

    Explanation:

    Information is the most useful piece when gathering facts that leads to apprehension of the perpetrator, take for example a murder case, ask yourself a question, how can the case be solved? Where do the police want to start from?, its information, they would require every little information, details and fit the puzzle that would lead to solving the case, maybe arresting the perpetrators or concluding the case after determining the cause of death or motive. So information is very key
