You have just finished installing a network adapter and booted up the system, installing the drivers. You open File Explorer on a remote computer and don't see the computer on which you installed the new NIC. What is the first thing you check? The second thing?

    If I just finished installing a network adapter and has booted up the system, installing the drivers, then i open the file explorer on a remote computer and don't see the computer on which i installed the new Network interface card, NIC, then my first step to take will be to check if the Network Adapter lights are functioning properly or not. If they would not be working fine, I would restart the adapter and if the lights are functioning properly, then i would go towards the other solution. On the second number, i would check if the network settings, or TCP/IP settings have been enabled or not.
