The Age of Absolutism happened due to political uncertainties pervading Europe before the takeover by the monarchs.

    Explanation:

During the 17th and 18th century there was a rise in the merchant class across the Europe as they looked to go to colonies and did more business at home.

This made the merchant class more influential in the politics of Europe but in effect destabilized the government after it started began passing laws to decentralize itself according to the needs of the merchants.

This made the rise of the Absolutists possible as the public was looking for stability and less war which the monarch would provide for them.
