    chimpanzees have 48 chromosomes in their somatic cells:

    A Deoxy Ribo nucleic (DNA) molecule is called as chromosome. The DNA molecule either consist a part or all the genetic material called genome of an organism. While somatic cells are the biological cells which creates the body of a species or an organism i. e., a multicellular organism.

    Mostly in somatic cells, the chromosomes are arranged in pairs which are known as diploid organism. In chimpanzees, 48 numbers of chromosomes are present and in the somatic cells of this organism, the chromosomes are arranged in 24 pairs i. e., a total of 48 chromosomes.
