The main role of the middle class in the development of government is Tax payment.

    Explanation:

The government needs financial sources to develop its duties, and in a liberal framework, only the private sector is allowed to work and produce economic wealth. The role of the government is to rule by collecting taxes from the private sector. With time the bourgeoisie will have access to the government as the result of social clashes summarized as "not taxes without representation"
