    Many people who moved to the large apartment blocks felt isolated and unhappy

    Explanation:

    Segregation and lack of social interaction was compounded by space without social connection at the most common level of interaction that occurs when people share space. Isolation has it relative similarity with incarceration which produces almost the same effect.
