    Explanation:

    Participants are never comfortable with research where human lives are at risk. It is generally because of morals and psychological effects which end up affecting in various ways. If the research involved no killing then the chances of participants backing out would have been extremely low. Moreover, it is human nature to opt for process which are harmless in almost every way.
