    Explanation: Spills from a centrifuge are considered high risk because aerosols may be created. When this spill occurs outside a containment device, the laboratory should be closed off and and vacated for a minimum of 30 minutes, This is to allow the aerosols to settle. All protective clothing must be cleaned and new ones worn. The contaminated area should then be bleached and all contaminated laboratory equipment should be handled with tongs.
