Scout characterized school as "twelve years of unrelieved boredm" for she thinks that her education system is meaningless and useless. It taught her nothing.

On the other hand, Atticus, her uncle, and even Jem seemed to be doing great for their own part even though they may not get the schooling like she got. So, she felt that she will be more happier and knowledgeable if she were given the same education system like her father and uncle.

    Explanation:

Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird" tells the story of the lives of the people in Maycomb, Alabama. Through narrated through the eyes of the young girl "Scout" Finch, the story delves and provides significant details of the racial prejudice and social inequality among the lives of the American South.

Jean Louise "Scout" Finch is the daughter of Atticus Finch, a lawyer who represented a black man from a ra pe accused case. She, rather than act ladylike like women in the south are expected to behave/act like, she was more of a tomboy, acting like a boy and mingling with only her brother and other boys. She describes her schooling in chapter IV as "twelve years of unrelieved boredom", suggesting that she finds it useless and just a waste of time and money.

For her, she would rather prefer a home school method, or the type that her father and uncle receive. In her opinion, "Atticus and my uncle, who went to school at home, knew everything - ... [Atticus] had served for years in the state legislature, elected each time without opposition, innocent of the adjustments my teachers thought essential to the development of Good Citizenship. Jem, educated on a half-Decimal half-Duncecap basis, seemed to function effectively alone or in a group, ... As for me, I knew nothing except what I gathered from Time magazine and reading everything I could lay hands on at home."
