    Explanation:

    1. 5x - y = 5 change this eqaution, mainly because it's easier

    1. b. y = - 5 + 5x substitute this for y

    2. 3x + 2y = 29

    3x + 2 (-5+5x) = 29

    3x - 10 + 10x = 29

    13x - 10 = 29

    + 10 + 10

    13x = 39

    divide by 13 on both sides

    x = 3

    put x back in the second equation

    5 (3) - y = 5

    15 - y = 5

    -15 - 15

    -y = - 10

    divide the negative

    y = 10

    check it ...

    3 (3) + 2 (10) = 29

    9 + 20

    = 29 it is checked and correct
