Resistance is the second stage of the gener adaptation syndrome, our body will try to adapt after the initial stage of being shocked by a stressful situation. This is the stage in which our body tries to respond appropriately to stressors by either engaging in fight or flight response.

The body may choose to fight a stressful situation by dealing with it or avoiding it.

If the resistance to stress fails the body will go to exhaustion which is a dangerous stage that may lead to depression.
