    Campaign

During president Jefferson's day, traveling around the whole nation for direct campaigning was not needed because they believed that was not necessary and was improper, rather letters conveying campaign promises were sent to heads of each communities and national newspapers to air their view to the public.

In contrast, Today's campaign revolves around traveling of the

presidential and vice presidential candidates around the country to gain political support, make public speeches and campaign directly to win support which is more costlier than those of Jefferson's days.

    Presidential inaugurations

During Jefferson's day, he did not dressed on special attire and there was no special occasion for inauguration. He dressed on normal everyday clothes and moved straight to the senate to take an oath of office.

While in today's inauguration, both president and vice president elects organize a very big party to mark the inauguration ceremony. Today's inauguration is characterized with waste of resources.
