The siblings became matured over the years

    Explanation:

Maturity is the stage in the life of someone whereby he or she would be able to see things from other perspective and also would understand the need to tolerate and respect the views and opinion of another individual irrespective of their differences.

As for the clients horrible relationship with his sibling as a child, it was as a result of lack of maturity on either of them leading to the differences. But as they grew up, they were alble to see that just as their differences exist, they could be able to have a meaniful relationship with each other once they exhibit sense of maturity towards each other.
