The officers played the role of guiding Washington's decisions through their support or concerns.

    Explanation:

Though George Washington was the most experienced military personnel amongst all the Congressmen, he was still the least experienced commandant compared to the commanders of French, Spanish and English armies. He was assisted by his subordinate officers through different battles. He was understanding enough to listen to the concerns of his subordinates and work accordingly. He came over his experience through the colloquiums that he had with his subordinates.
