    Answer&Explanation:

Water is absorbed from the surface to the underground water where it get preserved as it recharges aquifers however through this process when water percolate through the surface to the groundwater it contains polluted surface particles and as water flows it takes this polluted particles or materials with it to the rivers, ponds and lakes. Hazardous chemicals can be transferred to the rivers and underground water through the flow of water from the surface and through percolation to the groundwater.
