    According to Victorians, heterosexuals were termed negative because they were seen as defiling religious teaching and principles which sees sex as a means of reproduction not just a means of having fun.

    The word "heterosexual" was formed along with the word "homosexual" in 1869 by Karl Maria Kertbeny.
