    Answer:b. hypothalamus

    Explanation:

What is the function of the hypothalamus?

The main crucial function of the hypothalamus is to keep our body in a health balanced state which is biologically refereed to as homeostasis.

Our bodies always strive to keep this state at all times such as responding to hunger which is a way of the body saying to us that its needs fuel in forms of nutrients that will be supplied by the food we eat and then our body will reach homeostasis.

The hypothalamus is like a mediator between our nervous system and endocrine to ensure that we achieve this state and the following functions are achieved through this process:

    - regulations of our body temperature

    - Drinking water to quench our thirst

    - maintaining our appetite

    - controling our emotions

    -blood pressure and heart rate

    -balancing our bodily fluid

Various system in our body signals our brain to respond to situation that need our attention as they do this signal hypothalamus is alerted to let us know what imbalance exist in our body at that moment and hypothalamus will release correct hormones that will balance things for us.

For example if we are cold the hypothalamus will release a hormone that will make us shiver so that we can create our own warmth.
