The Allotment Act encouraged native Americans to own private farms instead of living in reservations by offering land for free to native American families. The allotment act also outlawed many native American traditions and pressured young native American children in foster homes.

Explanation:The Dawes General Allotment act provides Indians with reservation land among the native American. This decision is geared towards creating farmers in the USA. The bill was passed severally and finally began to be practiced in Feb 1887.

The president chooses who deserves the grant and gives out 160 acres to household and 80 acres to unmarried adults. The Indians who receive the land will eventually become a US citizen.

The reservation system gave room to the Dawes general Allotment act. The reservation system keeps Indian away from the lands Europeans wishes to settle, it allows the Indian tribe to govern themselves and some maintain some of their cultural and social tradition.

Under the reservation system, Americans Indians kept their citizenship in their independent tribes. The reservation makes the Indians to live in a confined space while the US promised to to supply them with food, money and to protect them from any attack.

The reservation system was unfair to the Indians as the government fails to keep to her promises.
