The palace was built with the son's bedroom facing east (where the sun rises) so God's light will shine on him.

    Explanation:

Louis XIV was France's longest reigning sovereign, for 72 years. He was also known as the Sun King, a nickname and symbol he chose for himself.

He built the extravagant Palace of Versailles, which showed the royals' opulence. He was compared to Apollo, the God of the sun.

This is one way in which he used architecture to legitimize his rule since facing east and being shone on by the light each morning "legitimized" his reign since he was being shone on by God himself.
