A common observation within visual search tasks, such as the one in this demonstration, is that the conjunctive absent condition takes about twice as long as the conjunctive present condition. Why would this be the case?

    Answer and explanation:

    It would be the case because when the target is found, tthe green circle search comes to an end. But, if it was on the contraty case, that the target is not found, one must look through all the available shapes on the screen in order to be sure that we haven't missed the target.
