Interpersonal communication is the exchange of information between two or more individuals. It is the ability to clearly convey, receive and interpret verbal or nonverbal messages. Thus, in a dialogue people can exchange information through verbal language or through signals emitted by written or body language. In cases of different cultures, these signs may cause some embarrassment in certain situations. For example, in Europe men have a way of greeting each other by exchanging kisses on the cheek. In conservative cultures, such as Islamic countries, this is not well regarded. The men greet each other with a nod. Therefore, there may be a misunderstanding when interpersonal communication between a European and a Muslim occurs. This is minimized when communication occurs more formally. This type of misunderstanding can occur in many situations, not just body communication, but even writing or speaking, as some expressions are also interpreted in different ways between different cultures.
