    Explanation: There are essential doctrines and there are important but non-essential doctrines as well. The bible states the doctrines that are essential to being a Christian and they include Monotheism, the divinity of Jesus Christ and his resurrection. Non-essential doctrines while also important are not fundamental to the Christian faith. These include the creation story and spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues.
