How did access to government differ among the First, Second, and Third Estates?

    Explanation:

    The Ancient Regime of France has a social hierarchy which was divided into three estates.

    First Estate: was consists of clergy which forms 0.5 percent of the population and paid no taxes.

    Second Estate: was consisted of nobility which have a powerful influence in government and they also were not liable to pay taxes.

    The Third Estate: was consist of professionals and workers and they collectively formed 98 percent of the population.

    Each estate has one vote therefore the government is controlled by the first and second estate and taxes were paid by the Third estate.
