When it comes to political issues surrounding global climate change in the United States, it's very important for the general public to use critical thinking skills because:

A. there isn't a way to test this phenomenon scientifically

B. many politicians falsely claim there isn't much scientific data to support it because they know the American public is largely uninformed about this subject (and science in general)

C. it's an idea that was made up by environmentalists and there's no proof to back it up
