    Americans associate autonomy with independence, liberty, and freedom. This freedom is required in all forms, be it political, economical, ideological etc. The Founding Fathers called liberty an unalienable God given right of mankind in the Declaration of Independence ... This being one of the main reasons for breaking away from Britain as well.
