Pilgrims were a group of settlers who came to America in search of religious freedom and they established the Plymouth colony.

    Explanation:

Many settlers were mostly puritans who were the orthodox protestants. They carried olden methods of worship and they were much intended to convert the people who were the natives of the North America to Christianity.

These puritans were called separatists as their way of worship is not accepted by the English crown in England. They wanted to separate themselves from the Church of England and they wanted to worship in their own way. They were not allowed to do this in England and if they did it they were prosecuted by the King and imprisoned and hence they settled in North America by establishing a colony.
